Dragonkind: Rebecca Yarros’s game

Dragonkind is the official interactive dragon-rider experience with a story by Rebecca Yarros, the author of Fourth Wing. Enter her fictional world as your own candidate and face Threshing.

From a Fourth Wing reader to a rider

The game uses the dragon-rider world of the Empyrean series. You make decisions for your candidate rather than choosing a favorite novel character as your result. The appeal is discovering whether you survive and which dragon bonds with you.

The game entrance is dragonkind.com. The author’s website, the Dragonkind merchandise shop and this independent field guide serve different purposes. For the book with a similar name, compare Dragonkind with Threshing Day and fan quizzes.

What you are about to encounter

Before the valley

Enter through the email screen. A new candidate and a returning rider have different entry options. Keep access to the inbox you used, so you can retrieve your sign-in code.

If entry is unfamiliar, follow the play guide. For a missing message, go straight to email-code help.

During Threshing

Read each situation before choosing. A dragon encounter can end in a bond or a death result. A copied answer list is not a promise that you will receive someone else’s dragon.

Prefer to discover it yourself? Keep the choice-path page closed until you want help, and record your own decisions in the run journal.

After your result

If you die, wait for the next attempt shown in the game. If you bond, save the details of your dragon. A retry after death and replacing an existing bond are different things; do not assume one proves the other.

Use the retry reminder for a wait, or the bond notebook for a successful result.

A small vocabulary for your first visit

Candidate
Your entry into the rider experience, before a completed dragon bond.
Threshing
The trial where dragons and would-be riders meet.
Bond
A successful dragon pairing, distinct from simply reaching an encounter.
Color and tail
Separate details of your dragon. Use the color reference and tail names to read them.

Explore the world without opening every spoiler

Dragonkind also contains Public Notices, in-world reading material about Navarre. Our notice topic index stays closed until you choose to open it. Read the notices as lore, separate from your personal result and retry wait.

Start with this overview if you want to keep your first encounter a surprise. Open a specific help page when you reach that problem, rather than reading every route and lore summary before you enter.
